Description
IHS Markit is looking for a Collections Analyst who will represent the Global Corporate Accounting divisions presence in our Cape Town facility. We are looking for a bright, hard-working individual with outstanding verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must have strong process and system skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across functions to resolve problems.
Responsibilities:
Monitor accounts receivable and correspond with customers (domestic and international) to ensure timely payments
Place direct phone calls and E-mails to customers that are past due
Assess collectability of customer invoices to support bad debt reserves and write-offs
Communicate effectively with the sales and product departments
Provide customer account summary and reconciliation, as needed
Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to customer service
Liaison with other team members within the finance department to ensure quality results
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelors degree, preferred.
Around 1-3 years of collections experience, preferred
The ability to be very detail-oriented is a must
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel/Word
Ability to research and resolve issues independently as well as work within a team structure
ERP system knowledge preferred (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Other)
Fluent in more than one foreign languages would be a plus
