Job description

A vacancy exists in the Assurance Department for a Supervisor to carry out duties relating to Financial Statement Compilations and Independent Reviews:



The purpose of the role is to produce annual financial statements for companies, close corporations, trusts and individuals as well as to perform independent reviews on companies.




Duties and responsibilities

Preparation of budget with supervisor's approval; control of targets to ensure monthly targets are met.


Gather client information


Identify and process adjusting journal entries to clients trial balance in order to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards


Prepare working paper files


Draft annual financial statements and attend to all related administration requirements


Resolve review queries from manager/partner and do final entries as per partner's finalization


Ensure the latest statutory knowledge is applied and undergo any necessary training.


Liaising and dealing with Clients, Supervisors and Partners on their expectations and requirements




Candidate Requirements

Recognised B.Com Accounting/Financial qualification


Membership of Professional Body (e.g. SAIPA) would be advantageous


5 years' experience in an accounting/auditing environment


Proficiency in MS Office with good working knowledge of spreadsheets and Pastel


Proficiency in tax computations for various entity types


Knowledge of Caseware is required


Previous experience in performing Independent Reviews is not required but would be advantageous
