The HRIS Specialist has expertise in one or more enterprise application such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, etc. This is dependent on the functional specialism the position requires. The individual in this role will participate in the planning, design, build and implementation for the assigned enterprise applications and/or systems. The individual will be required to perform most of the tasks defined by the planned agile epic workload or the project, gathering facts, analyzing client requirements and designing solutions that demonstrate the functionality to support the findings.

Agile Project Management Defines, documents and carries out small projects or sub-projects or epic based, alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phases. Agrees approach with stakeholders and prepares realistic functional requirements. Ensures that own work is organized, completed on time and are formally closed off in accordance to the defined “definition of done” criterion from business and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded. Insights gained from the critique of an iteration are used to determine what the next step should be in the project. Builds rapid feedback, continuous adaptation and quality assurance best practices into iterations. Continuously evaluates time and costs and ensures distribution of work to meet requirements. Testing Defines test conditions for given requirements. Designs test cases and creates test scripts and supporting data, working to the specifications provided. Interprets, executes and records test cases in accordance with project test plans. Analyses and reports test activities and results. Identifies and reports issues and risks. Consultancy Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited. Business Analysis Investigates operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes required in the busienss. Assists in defining acceptance tests for these recommendations. Work Outputs Projects and Agile defined work The role will be required to participate in most of the areas of a project, participating in discussions with the client around process design and configuration. They will execute assigned project tasks, including facilitating meetings and task groups. He/she will continually report on status and deliver progress reports, actively participating as a project team member. In Agile scrum the individual will deliver designed stories within defined estimations to ensure sprint backlogs are meat using their functional expertise. Demonstrate the in current state solution in system and sprint demos. The individual will build quality into the design and build of each component they work on. Design Contribute by analysing the business processes, design workshops and take direction to set up the system. He/she will gather facts, analyse requirements, designing the solution and demonstrating its functionality to support the findings. Testing This individual will assist in testing cycles and knowledge transfer to the user community. Will ensure testing scrips are defined for their designed elements/components. He/she will execute systems acceptance testing (SAT) and unit testing with said scripts and will document testing and fix any associated bugs. The individual will bug-fix user acceptance testing (UAT) components as and when raised in UAT and regression testing to ensure quality code is released into production. Documentation The role will assist with the technical preparation of business process workflows and procedures and training material and technical system documentation as defined. They will prepare test scenarios related to the business processes and complete functional testing, application configuration and data migration duties. This individual will prepare end-user documentation and user manuals as required for the implementation of the enterprise application. Client engagement The HRIS Specialist will participate in process design workshops and configuration discussions with the client. They will build strong working relationships with client and act as a trusted advisor by gaining credibility with the client. Education required Computer Science Degree/ Diploma Certifications required Certification in one functional area of application e.g. FI consultant or PS Work experience required 5 years’ experience working as an Functional consultant or specialist in one or more applications (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, etc), carrying out business/functional or systems implementation Some experience work across project lifecycles from scoping to post go-live Demonstrate knowledge of the functional aspects of the application or system Demonstrate knowledge of business processes and associated technology Client engagement experience
