The Principal: Operational Change Management is a senior-level position in the Change Management Specialists job family.
The primary responsibility of the Principal: Operational Change Management is to transition teams and regional organisation to re-direct the use of resources, business process, budget allocations, or other modes of operation in order to lead to business growth aligned to the global strategy.
Working at NTT
Execute and drive change management initiatives
The Principal: Operational Change Management implements regional change management strategies to improve and grow the NTT business. They consult with internal stakeholders to understand and develop the change management roadmap in conjunction with the strategy. They are required to provide strategic direction and planning for these stakeholders by collaborating and engaging with them. These individuals perform SWOT and industry analysis, researching people, process and technology domains and review and update the change management strategy and delivery metrics.
Support transformation projects
The Principal: Operational Change Management provides support for transformation projects which involve organisational transformation, governance and policy, operational efficiency and strategy. They partner with the strategic program management office (PMO) for all transformations, ensuring the smooth integration of the transformation. Principal: Operational Change Management understand both the business drivers and the organisation and identify performance issues and analyse their impact on short and long term business results. They perform analysis of architecture, engineering and operations services to understand the impact transformation of the strategy, operations and infrastructure will have on platforms fundamental to business success. They are required to plan and report progress on key transformational initiatives.
The Principal: Operational Change Management is expected to provide:
A detailed communication plan including regular check points for conversations with key stakeholders
A risk management plan
A timeline for the implementation of change management and transformation initiatives and deployment
Status reporting on the implementation of change management and transformation initiatives, successes and challenges
Act as change agent
These individuals enable communication between business and other relevant stakeholders. They align the organisations’ expectations, integrate teams and facilitate engagement sessions. They use performance metrics, such as financial results, operational efficiency, leadership commitment, communication effectiveness, and the perceived need for change in order to design strategies and to communicate these strategies to the relevant stakeholders.
Engage stakeholders
The Principal: Operational Change Management forms partnerships with stakeholders and take mutual responsibility for the outcomes of the change effort. They engage these stakeholders to evaluate not only the progress of the implementation of the change management and transformation initiatives, but also to monitor assumptions, risks, dependencies, costs and return on investment.
Prepare progress reports and communication
These individuals take responsibility for the completion of the required documentation relating to business change management and transformational initiatives. This includes the development, maintenance and communication of change management roadmap documents. They provide progress reports and feedback to the relevant stakeholders. In addition to this, they are able to create documents such as presentations, press releases and memorandums.
