Job Description The European Finance Operations function delivers transactional processing services in Europe covering Purchase to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), and Record to Report (R2R).

We are looking for current university students, studying a relevant degree who are hoping to undertake a 12 Month Placement to gain Finance experience in a FTSE 100 organisation. The placement role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, commencing August 2020.

We have multiple placement student roles, which will be aligned to one of the teams outlined above. The role of the placement student is to support the wider team with transactional processes, continuously reviewing these to ensure they meet the current and future needs of the business, and ensuring compliance with the underlying business terms and Sage policies.

Key Responsibilities • Perform Transactional Processes to meet deadlines and KPIs of the team, prioritising workload and delivering an excellent service.
• Contribution to the reporting, understanding and action plans around team KPIs and process controls as per Service Management Framework.
• Manage and investigate stakeholder queries (internal and externa), escalating where appropriate.
• Active participation in process improvement projects as per the Sage continuous improvement culture; Optimise existing processes to reduce time taken, documenting processes in a standardised and modified way, eliminating waste and the value stream map for the area updated.
• Displaying a service culture and customer service orientation in the teams.
• Working with other teams in finance and the business to investigate and resolve issues.
• Proactively get involved in learning and development activities, owning your personal development plan to get the most out of your placement.
• Input to departmental and companywide projects as required.
• Participate in Sage Foundation initiatives with the team and Early Careers groups at Sage.

To be eligible for this role you should currently be studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance or a relevant degree, with an interest in a career in finance after completing university AND be eligible to undertake a 12 month placement as part of your degree. Unfortunately, only candidates who are currently studying and who plan to return to University in 2021 will be considered for this placement role.
