Job Description Sage is currently recruiting for a Data Analyst to join our Central Marketing Operations team. This is an exciting new role with the opportunity to heavily influence modelling approaches and techniques. We’re looking for someone to develop and maintain statistical models to support and drive Sage’s business objectives, as well as using their analytical expertise to uncover valuable customer insights.
Working predominantly within Marketing, but also across teams such as Sales, Product, Service and IT, you will be accountable for high profile modelling projects starting from conceptional idea through to the operationalisation within Marketing & Sales. You’ll be presenting and managing stakeholders at different levels, conveying complex analysis in a fast-paced, practical environment.

Key Responsibilities Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Develop of statistical learning models for customer data analysis & practical application within Sales & Marketing functions
• Apply other mathematical methodologies to enable more targeted data segmentation enabling better Marketing funnel performance
• Operationalise statistical models to ensure appropriate levels of performance metrics are met and models are adopted and maintained within each country
• Communicate and deliver complex analysis effectively to tell a story from business problem to recommendation
• Work proactively with customers, to challenge their understanding of the business problem relating this back to the analytics process
Essential Skills and Experience:
• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Maths, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering (or similarly highly numerate subject)
• Extensive practical experience in statistical analysis and data mining
• Background in statistical modelling with experience using machine learning, regression or similar techniques
• Experience deploying commercially viable statistical models within large organisations across multiple geographies
• Highly analytical professional with practical experience in R, Python, SAS or Alteryx
• Can quickly build relationships and collaborate across different regions and cultures by working remotely and face-to-face
Desirable Skills and Experience:
• Experience working within a Marketing or Sales function (preferably B2B)
• Experience analysing data through third party vendor applications (.e.g. Dun & Bradstreet’s Market Insight)
• Previous experience using Salesforce and/or Eloqua is an advantage
